Today was the Sabbath.  And God met me wherever I was.

I wrote these words in church:
We turned off the fan in church today...
just like we turned off
the sermons
and the noise of all those trying 'thou shalt nots.'
And we listened to the crickets.
And we listened to the the quiet hum.

God speaks more beautifully than words.
And I bought my Dad a pink shirt.  This is not something he would buy for himself,
heavens no!
But on Thursday, I believe he will get a great report from the oncologist,
and when I saw this shirt, I thought to myself:
"It takes a man of courage to stand up to cancer three times.
And a man of such courage simply must wear pink!!"
Yep.  Bought that shirt.  Uh huh.  Really amazing men wear pink!!  (Don't mention this to him.  He won't get it until the week-end.  He'd never believe you anyway!!)

And then I went wildflower picking with my friend.
We made bouquets for each classroom and office in our building.
You see, we have been at school all summer, but our dear ones come back
from summer vacation tomorrow...
and we want them to have a sweet arrival.
It's hard to let go of summer.  We want them to know we understand.

And tonight,
the moon, the big full moon fills me with wonder
and peace and hope.
And as I ready myself for
rest
the mantra I shall close my eyes to sings its
lullaby:
Surely something good shall come from
this.
Something good shall come from this.
