Kathy Fuller Guisewite
I believe in the strength and beauty of the human spirit. I also know that it is easy to lose our way, to forget that we are created in the image of love for the purpose of love in the most sacred sense of the word. I believe my calling in this life is to be a presence that facilitates spaces and encounters with elements of beauty that enable those beside me to remember their own goodness, strength, and holy connections. I trust that God is at work in all and through all.
My Training and Life Experience:
*Former Licensed Minister in the Church of the Brethren
*Graduate of the Ruah School of Spiritual Direction, Richmond Hill
*MA in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University (I am not a licensed counselor.)
*Classroom teacher in the public school setting for nearly twenty years
*Parent-Infant Educator at The Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind
*Certified Infant Massage Educator
*Wedding Officiant/Celebrant for the State of Virginia
*Published poet/author and working artist
I have also weathered the struggles of infertility, a marriage that did not last, being a single parent as I raised my daughter (who came to me through the blessing of adoption), returning to graduate school mid-life, and surviving the burden of unemployment. There have been many times when I did not know how I would find my way or if I would ever again walk hand in hand with happiness, but my life is truth revealed time and time again... there is grace at every turn, there are people who care, and there is a Divine Source loving us towards a fullness of life.
